A research project investigating the possibilities of outdoor location based virtual reality, and social interactions in VR.

CYBORG DATING is a mobile ‘VR4two’ experience: one person wears the VR headset and is guided through the physical environment by the other person, using his or her smartphone. In CYBORG DATING the participants are asked to perform a role. The one with the headset becomes the Cyborg, the other stays Human. As a result, a conversation is triggered about the impact of new technologies on our communication, specifically during a date..

Hoe maak ik een waardevolle sociale ervaring van het wachten in een rij?

“Ik wil je afleiden tijdens dat verschrikkelijke wachten. Ik wil je iets te doen geven. Ik wil je een verhaal vertellen. De rij op zich is al een ervaring. Je wil in deze rij staan. Vergeet het wachten en geniet van de rij. Dompel je onder in deze rij.” 

Wacht is een onderzoek waarin ik probeer de regels van een wachtrij helder te krijgen en te onderzoeken hoe ik van verschillende wachtrijen waardevolle sociale ervaringen kan maken. Het is een onderzoek naar het bepalen van gedrag van mensen in groepsverband en deze gedragspatronen te gebruiken en in te zetten voor spel.  Tevens is het een onderzoek naar pervasive gaming in de publieke ruimte.
